As an accounting firm, Klabo, Brown & Co., LLC handles some of the most sensitive personal and financial information there is. Protecting that information isn't a compliance exercise for us — it's a condition of being trusted with the work. In the course of serving clients, we may collect:

• Financial information — income, expense and asset records, bank details, prior tax returns and business records, as needed to perform the engagement;
• Communications — correspondence, documents and instructions you send us.

We collect only what the engagement requires.

How We Use Information

Client information is used exclusively to perform the professional services described in your engagement letter and to meet related legal and professional obligations — for example, preparing and filing returns, maintaining required workpaper records and responding to lawful requests from tax authorities in connection with work we prepared for you. We do not sell, rent or trade client information, and we do not use it for marketing to third parties.

How We Protect It

Our safeguards include:

• Restricted access — client files are available only to firm personnel working on your engagement;
• Secure storage of physical documents in our office, with original documents returned to you;
• Secure electronic systems with access controls, and secure transmission arrangements for sensitive documents;
• Retention of records in accordance with professional standards, after which materials are securely destroyed.
• We never confirm to strangers whether you are or were a client.

Sharing of Information

We disclose client information only when: (a) your engagement requires it — for example, filing a return with the IRS or a state agency; (b) you expressly authorize it — such as providing information to your lender or attorney; (c) law or professional standards require it. Outside those limits, nothing leaves this office.

Website and Contact Form

This website is informational and does not use analytics trackers, advertising cookies or third-party embedded services. If you contact us through the website form or by email, we ask that you not include Social Security numbers or tax documents; we will arrange secure document exchange once we've spoken with you. Messages submitted through the site are used only to respond to your inquiry.

Your Choices

You may ask us what information we hold about you, correct inaccuracies relating to contact details, or ask about our retention of your records. Some records must be kept for periods set by professional and tax record retention standards; we'll explain those limits if you ask.
